Meet Nairi, Los Angeles
My passions are traveling, constantly learning new things.
Who are you? Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Nairi. I am 42 years old. I have two sons. I am of Armenian origin but was born in France and lived 15 years of my life in Greece. I have been a teaching assistant (Atsem) for 10 years. I love my job. I love traveling and discovering new cultures. I enjoy reading books, especially biographies.
What inspired you to become an educator?
I became a teaching assistant (Atsem) somewhat by chance. Someone advised me to pursue the studies. I thought it was a good idea, so I went for it, and since then I have no regrets.
Can you share a memorable success story from your career?
When I saw my students from middle school graduate from high school.
What unique strengths do you bring to your work?
I am very gentle but at the same time very firm with the children. I give them the affection and love they need to grow and become confident. At the same time, I teach them independence and how to work to succeed. I have the ability to get along very well with parents, which builds trust. This allows parents to feel more at ease when sending their children to school.
What is your passion, and what motivates you in your role as an educator?
My passions are traveling, constantly learning new things, discovering new things, and helping people as much as I can at any age.
